Bio

Here’s the most important thing you need to know about Mandy K Shucher: she is the most dependable bass player with whom you’ll ever work. She’s easy to get along with and has a near-encyclopedic knowledge of country and rock bass playing.

Nashville was made for a bass player who works as hard as Mandy. Her first year in town (2006), she played seven days a week at the famous Broadway honky tonks, often double and triple shifts. Her talent and work ethic were recognized by the hard-touring, country-rock powerhouse Mustang Sally, who snatched her up in 2007. While with MSB, Mandy toured the world with stops in Switzerland, Guam, Guantanamo Bay and 45 states in the USA. Throughout 2016 – 2017 she worked with singer-songwriter Ward Davis as Bassist, Musical Director and Tour Manager.

Currently, Mandy plays live with several artists and writers, on studio sessions, and a few extra shifts here and there on Broadway. She is also the co-owner of Gas Money Studio. Her down-to-earth attitude and consummate professionalism keep her in demand around Nashville.

In addition to her musical abilities, Mandy also has experience in Tour Managing, Tour Accounting, Road Management, Photography & Videography, Editing, Studio Management, Social Media Management, and Artist Relations.

On The Record: Bassist Mandy K Shucher (Part 1)

FLOYDADA – From the relative calm of rural living in Floyd County to the bright lights of Nashville, Mandy Shucher has seen it all. The 2001 graduate of Floydada High School has been a musician in Music City since 2006, and stopped by on a trip home recently to talk about her career, what it’s like being a small-town kid in a big city, and about her recent feature in Bass Player magazine.

Here is the first half of our interview, in today’s On The Record.
